The smallest 5G smartphone to feature Dimensity 7300, 12GB RAM, 4000mAh battery
Unihertz, the company known for its niche smartphones, recently teased the upcoming Jelly Max, which they claim will be the smallest 5G phone on the market. Two weeks after the initial announcement, the company has now revealed more specifications for this anticipated device.
Jelly Max Elevates Compact 5G with Top-Tier Specs and Rapid Charging
The Jelly Max ditches the underpowered processors often found in small phones. Instead, it boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a whopping 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Compared to its predecessor, the Jelly Star, Unihertz promises significant performance upgrades: 54% faster CPU, 87% zippier GPU, 36% snappier memory, and a 30% improvement in energy efficiency.
While details about the exact screen size are still under wraps, Unihertz assures us that the Jelly Max won’t compromise on battery life. It packs a 4000mAh battery, which is surprisingly large for such a compact device. This is further complemented by 66W fast charging, allowing you to juice up the phone to 90% in just 20 minutes.
While the exact dimensions remain under wraps, comparisons with the standard keyboard shown in the teaser suggest a size similar to an iPhone 13 Mini. This would be a significant leap from the tiny 3-inch display of the Jelly Star, making the Jelly Max a more practical option for everyday use.
Details about the launch date and pricing are scarce, but Unihertz has confirmed a Kickstarter campaign is on the horizon. This crowdfunding strategy aligns with their usual approach and allows them to gauge market interest before a full-scale launch.
Additionally, rumors suggest Unihertz might be working on another phone with a physical keyboard, exciting fans who crave a return to the tactile typing experience.
