Reasons Why You Should Skip The iPhone 16 And Wait For Next Year’s iPhone 17

Apple brings some new iterations every year when it launches a new model for the iPhone lineup. The iPhone 16 has been long hyped even before it was showcased, and with the series finally being rolled out, we noticed the changes brought ahead this time around, especially with the Apple Intelligence being an integral part now. While the company has released a new series, the development of other future models keeps going along with this, and like with any other company products, the iPhone models are not safe from leaks, giving away insights way ahead of release. The iPhone 17 series is said to be packed with even bigger upgrades for those who are still deciding whether to wait a while or go for the new model.

Apple iPhone 16

iPhone 17 series rumored features have us more inclined to what the next lineup could offer

The iPhone 16 has been recently released, but many users are still contemplating whether to get the new series or not and whether the iPhone 17 lineup promises bigger upgrades. The iPhone 17 is expected to come out in September next year. Those that are inclined towards skipping this year’s iPhone 16 might find the list of rumored features that might be coming next year and might be worth the wait.

Bigger Display Sizes

While the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max did get bigger screens this time, 6.27 inches and 6.86 inches, respectively, Apple plans to go even bigger for next year’s iPhone 17 model, which will be the size of the 16 Pro model at 6.27 inches. Rumor has it that the iPhone 17 Plus might come with revamped dimensions.

120Hz ProMotion

Apple is said to be working on extending the ProMotion technology to its standard iPhone models. In 2025, the 120Hz refresh rate, previously reserved for the Pro models, will be brought to the standard iPhone 17 model. This would drastically improve users’ interaction with their phones, as there would be smoother scrolling and more responsive touch.

Apple-Designed Wi-Fi 7 Chip

It is also expected that for the first time, the Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip will be featured in the 2025 Pro models, and this kind of support would allow for faster data transfer speeds, reduced latency, simultaneous multi-band support, and improved stability in the connectivity.

Improved Camera Setup

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is said to be the first iPhone featuring a rear camera layout that has all 48-megapixel lenses. Due to the higher resolution, the camera would be better equipped to capture more details. It is said the camera setup would be optimized to be extended to the Apple’s Vision Pro headset.

Increased RAM Storage

While there are conflicting speculations on this aspect by analysts, we do know that at least one of the models would have an increased RAM capacity of up to 12GB. Given how the iPhone 16 models all come with 8GB of RAM, this is a huge jump and would significantly improve the performance of the iPhone and its ability to handle multi tasks.

Narrower Dynamic Island

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is to come with a noticeably narrower Dynamic Island. This has been made possible with the help of the adoption of smaller metalen technology that allows for shrinking the space required for the Face ID system.

iPhone 17 Air

The most interesting speculation is about launching a new iPhone 17 model with a slimmer design named “iPhone 17 Air.” It is said to have a 6.5-inch display and a completely revamped design, and it would come with an aluminum body. It is said to be packed with better performance attributed to the A19 chip it will come with, along with the Apple-designed 5G modem.

Whether you should get the iPhone 16 series or should wait another year to get your hands on the iPhone 17 lineup, all boils down to your preference. Users that are more inclined towards skipping the iPhone 16 for the minor iterations it offers, have some promising upgrades coming to the the next model.
